New to WISI products? This video is to help Tangram and Chameleon customers get started with their new product. The first thing you’ll need to do is create a WISI Connect account, a portal through which you can register your product and download license files, firmware updates, user manuals, and entitlement files.
First, open a web browser and navigate to wisiconnect.tv. Register for a new account by clicking Register account. Only a valid email address and a password of your choosing is required.
A support representative will approve your account and a welcome email will be sent within two business days. Email email@example.com if you need your account approved sooner.
After your account has been approved you can register your new WISI module or device. Registration is important because it connects your module to your account, allowing you to download entitlements or licenses for the module. Log in to wisiconnect.tv and click Register Unit. Enter the serial numbers of the WISI modules you are registering. The Distributor, Module Name, Installation Site, and Description fields are optional and are provided to help you manage your Tangram and Chameleon deployment.
Click Register to complete the module registration.
To download the license or entitlement file click My Units. Then click on the down arrow icon for the unit to save the file in the local computer’s Downloads folder. This entitlement file includes your unit’s Software Update Agreement (SUA), which enables you to download firmware updates and installs.
To download module software, click Downloads. Then navigate to the software version you want to download and save the file to your computer.
After you have downloaded software and entitlement files, they need to be installed on your Tangram or Chameleon module. This is done through the module’s web-based user interface. Navigate to the Software and Entitlement Upgrade section of the user interface and click upload. The same interface is used for both software and entitlement file uploads, in the SOFTWARE AND ENTITLEMENT UPGRADE section in the Settings view, by clicking the UPLOAD button.
One last note: Be aware of your SUA expiry date, found under My Units. The SUA for a new module expires one year from date of registration. The SUA expiry date is important because it controls whether a firmware update can be installed. Firmware installation requires that the expiry date of the SUA installed on the module be later than the firmware release date.
If the SUA expiry date reported in the module user interface is earlier than the SUA expiry date on WISI Connect, download and install a fresh entitlement file. Inca Networks extends module SUAs for one year upon renewal of your support contract.
